The Country Network Continues Momentum in 2017 with Expansion of Staff and Household Reach --Veteran broadcaster Bailey named Program Director; TCN now available in Tulsa & along Country Music Highway in Eastern KY & TN/Virginia/West Virginia Nashville, Tenn., (January 17, 2017)--The Country Network (TCN), the nation's newest country music television broadcaster which launched early last year and is now available in 54 markets (over 60 million DMA households), continues its momentum in 2017 with the announcement of added affiliates and staff. Veteran broadcaster, Kent Bailey has joined The Country Network's Nashville team as Program Director. Bailey's experience in radio and TV spans over three decades, including stints at CMT International, as well as alongside former associate Cary Rolfe, VP of Programming and Artist Relations for The Country Network. Bailey assisted Rolfe in programming The Country Network during its original launch in 2012 (and subsequently ZUUS Country, until its sale in late 2015). Bailey reunited with Rolfe and has been working with The Country Network in Nashville as a programming consultant since June, contributing greatly to its initial success. Bailey can be reached at kent@tcncountry.com. TCN has also expanded its reach in Oklahoma, eastern Kentucky/Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. Country music fans in Tulsa can view the latest Country, Red Dirt, Texas and Americana music videos, as well as exciting original programming via HD affiliate KZLL (39.1). Fans living along Highway 23 (also known as the Country Music Highway), which runs through eastern Kentucky and Tennessee, Western Virginia and West Virginia (including Pine Gap/Big Stone Gap of Appalachian Kentucky), can watch The Country Network on CMH-23. Fans can also tune in through ROKU devices, or streaming online at www.tcncountry.com. "There is no higher compliment than earning fans and affiliates from country music hotbeds such as this," explains Tim Eaton, President and CEO of The Country Network. "Highway 23 has certainly given rise to its share of talent...Chris Stapleton, Loretta Lynn, Crystal Gayle, Ricky Skaggs, Patty Loveless, Billy Ray Cyrus, the Judds, Keith Whitley, Dwight Yoakam...just to name a few," continues Eaton. "If we can excite fans who are surrounded by this much talent, then we know we are doing something right!" Throughout 2017, Eaton advises TCN will remain focused on its growth strategy (to reach 100 markets across a variety of broadcast platforms and streaming services by the end of 2018) and to look for more affiliate announcements in the weeks and months to come.
